Book Signing Event - Reflections in Stone and Bronze with author Cheryl D. Soon
Meet author Cheryl Soon on Saturday, October 22nd at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana from 2PM to 3PM. Cheryl will be sharing interesting facts about the statues around O’ahu and signing copies of her new book, “Reflections in Stone and Bronze“.
From 10am-9pm, Hawaii Literacy will also participating in a Barnes & Noble Bookfair. Present our unique voucher or tell the register you're there to support us before completing your purchase. A percentage of your purchase will be contributed to Hawaii Literacy, which will go directly towards providing books and educational materials for keiki and adult learners. Online purchases can also be made up to 5 days after the bookfair date on www.bn.com (remember to enter our code “12635066” into the designated field at checkout).
Exceptions include textbooks, used and out of print books, magazine subscriptions, video games, software, digital content, downloadable audiobooks, promotions, products returned within 7 days of purchase, gift cards and membership fees. For online purchases, only eligible purchases that ship within 10 days of the bookfair date will go towards the Bookfair total, and magazines, gift wrapping and shipping and handling fees will not count towards the Bookfair total.

Learn more about the cyclical nature of low-literacy, the correlation between literacy level and crime and how communities are improved by supporting literacy efforts. Learn how to access the many services available for adults at the Hilo library, CALC and Kona Literacy Center.

About The Charity Walk
The Charity Walk, founded in 1974 and expanded statewide in 1978, is now Hawai‘i’s largest single-day fundraising event by a non-profit organization. Since its inception, more than $32 million has been raised to support hundreds of local charities throughout the state. Spearheaded by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association and its non-profit arm Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation, the Charity Walk is traditionally held every May on Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, Lana‘i, Maui, Moloka‘i, and O‘ahu. Money raised on an island or county stays there. The public is invited to participate in this event featuring a morning of great food, fun, fabulous entertainment, and a little exercise to help island charities.

Oahu Charity Walk
Come join Hawaii Literacy and TJ Maxx employees at the Oahu Charity Walk on May 19th! Charity Walkers on Oahu must have a minimum total donation of $40 for adults and $25 for those under 18 years of age (including infants). Donations must be turned in prior to participating in the Charity Walk. Free parking is available at Ala Moana Shopping Center and at the Magic Island parking lot.
If you register online, please be sure to bring a copy of your receipt as proof of registration to receive walker card on the morning of the walk!

Parking is available for free at our building at the Kukui Center, located at 245 N. Kukui St., or you can park at the Credit Union building for $3 but you must bring exact change. Street parking is also available

Come support Hawaii Literacy at Honolulu Professional Foundation's Party Four a Purpose, a benefit for Hawaii Literacy and HIDA.
